Canvassing

Every canvassing platform stops at the lead. This one keeps going.

SalesRabbit, SPOTIO, Knockbase — every canvassing tool on the market hands off to a CRM and the trail goes cold. SolarProjeX already runs your leads, deals, work orders and invoices, so a knock isn't a dead end here. It's the first row in a chain that ends at an installed job and a paid commission.

A canvassing tool that hands off to a CRM is a canvassing tool that stops mattering the moment the door closes.

Door-to-door canvassing apps are good at the door and go quiet after it. A lead gets created somewhere else, and whether it ever became a sale — let alone an installed, paid job — is a question the canvassing tool was never built to answer. That's the gap every canvassing platform on the market shares, and it's the reason canvassing and sales performance end up tracked in two places that don't agree.

SolarProjeX doesn't have that seam, because there's no handoff to make. A rep's knock creates a lead in the exact same pipeline the office already works — same stages, same board, same rules. A rep who taps the map creates or reuses a property (deduped by address, not by another spreadsheet), logs a disposition, and — when the homeowner is worth a callback — answers five qualifying questions at the door: owns or rents, roof age, what they're actually interested in, their monthly bill, and the best time to reach them. All of it lands in the lead's notes as a call opener, so whoever picks up the phone isn't starting cold.

Because the knock and the sale live in one system, commission can be computed on what actually happened — not on what was set. The canvasser is paid when the appointment they set actually sits, plus a bonus if it sells; the closer is paid on the real sale, on either a red-line-plus-share structure or a flat rate per watt, with batteries always a flat amount. Nothing is earned until the job is marked installed, so a cancellation before installation never becomes a clawback to chase down — it simply never accrued.

  • Field app with a real map, GPS-dropped or address-typed properties, deduped automatically
  • Fast disposition logging — contact result, interest level, next step — in a few taps
  • Five-question qualification at the door, written straight into the lead as a call-opener
  • Every lead created in the field runs through the SAME pipeline the office already uses — never a second one
  • Reps see their own leads and outcomes; the office approves any edit a rep requests from the field
  • Commission on the closer's actual sale — a red-line-plus-share or a flat rate per watt, batteries always flat
  • Commission on the canvasser's actual sit, plus a bonus when their appointment sells and installs
  • Nothing is earned until the job is marked installed — no clawbacks, because nothing accrued early
  • Day, week and month production tracking per rep, plus a live leaderboard
  • A built-in training academy — objections, qualifying, compliance and a four-day field certification a manager signs off

How it works

One pipeline, from the driveway to the invoice.

🚪

Knock, log, qualify

A rep taps a property on the map, logs what happened, and — if it's worth a callback — answers five questions that turn into a real call opener.

🔗

One pipeline, not two

The lead a rep creates in the field is the exact lead the office works. No import, no second system that can drift out of sync with the first.

💰

Paid on what happened

Commission computes off the real sale and the real install — red-line-plus-share or flat per watt for the closer, a flat sit fee plus a sale bonus for the canvasser.

🎓

A real academy

Objection handling, qualifying, compliance and safety, and a four-day certification track a manager actually signs off before a rep works alone.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from SalesRabbit or SPOTIO?

Those tools are built to get a lead out of the field and into a CRM — and that's where they stop. SolarProjeX doesn't have a separate canvassing pipeline to hand off from; the lead a rep creates at the door is already sitting in the same Sales Pipeline the office works, all the way through to an installed job and a paid commission.

How does canvasser commission work?

A canvasser is paid a flat amount when an appointment they set actually sits — logged the moment the office records the appointment as run — plus a bonus if that same deal sells and installs. A no-show or a cancelled appointment never earns it, because paying on a set that never happened is exactly what leads to a canvasser padding their numbers with soft appointments.

What stops a rep from selling below cost?

The red-line commission model pays the rep a share of what they sell above a floor price per watt you set, with a hard cap on the highest price they may sell at. Sell below the floor and there's simply no per-watt commission on that deal — the software enforces the boundary instead of relying on a rep to remember it.

Can a field rep edit a lead they created?

They can propose a change — a corrected phone number, a note — and it goes to the office as a request showing exactly what would change. Nothing writes to the lead until someone in the office approves it. A canvasser never gets direct write access to the pipeline.

What's actually in the training academy?

Original content, not a resold script: reading a house before you knock, the first thirty seconds at the door, real objections grouped by type, compliance and safety (including Do Not Call and No Soliciting, handled correctly), and a four-day field certification — shadow, assisted, lead, solo — that a manager signs off in person. Reading the lessons is self-serve; certifying is not.
